On June 4th at the Rock Classic, Kevin and Country made their debut in Extreme Vertical. Practicing for 6 months after the Nationals in 2005, the pair worked continuously on dry land to get ready for their first event.
Barb Radtke has always been a good friend and supporter of Team Country so it was decided that this event would be their EV debut. A debut it was; not only was the World Record Broke once at 7’4” but yet again by the pair at 7’8”.
Country qualified for the finals by bringing the dummy down with his chin and chest at 6’8”. Safety issue for Country were considered so Angie Jones and Nestle passed to, and got a touch, but the bumper would not fall at 7’. Competitors “Barb and Rock” and “Dan Jacobs and Missy” passed and gave Country his first World Record attempt at 7’4”. The successful grab at 7’4” gave the cheering crowd the chance to witness DockDogs history. It was the first time in DockDogs that the same dog held both the Big Air and Extreme Vertical World records. But it wasn’t over; with the crowd and competitors behind the team, Country made another successful grab at 7’8”. Kevin contributes the success of Country to proper diet, training and conditioning.
